Andrew Ragas is a multi-species angler who is heavily involved with the sport of fishing through the recreational, educational, promotional, and media ends of it. Andrew primarily fishes and travels throughout the Great Lakes and Upper Midwestern regions of the country, targeting big smallmouth bass and muskies with his favorite destinations being the north country of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ontario Canada. As a fisher of all species that swim, Andrew doesn’t single out any particular species and is always open to the adventures of finding the best bites and opportunities before him.
Known more for his media publishing and outdoors industry acumen through his independent fishing ventures and design and media publishing company, Ragas is privileged to be able to be out on the water over 150 days per year for both leisure and his instructional and guiding responsibilities. Roughly 75% of those days are spent in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and Northwestern Ontario while the rest is elsewhere throughout the country as well as locally in the Chicago metropolitan area during early spring and again in late fall.
Ragas doesn’t claim to be an expert or a professional by any means, but rather one who has received a lifelong fishing education, and one who is well versed in the sport with a wealth of offerings. Presently, he contributes regionally and nationally to various print and online publications. Additionally, he represents and works for some of the finest brands in the fishing industry, competes in regional and local bass and muskie tournaments in Wisconsin, and enjoys building long-term relationships with industry partners and clients.

Learn About Andrew’s Boat
For two seasons I was extensively searching for my next fishing boat – the one and only Ranger 681 Fisherman. In April 2015, I got more than I wanted…… I bought my dream boat, a used Ranger 681VS with a 115hp Evinrude Intruder. I’m a fan of older Ranger Boats and reliable, well-built Evinrude 2 stroke outboards. Per consultations with Lake County Watersports manager, Mike Salisbury, the Intruder is amongst one of the best-ever built by Evinrude, and I can see why! Now equipped with state of the art Lowrance HDS electronics, an 80lb MinnKota Terrova (wireless), and other accessories, the improvements and add-ons still keep coming. Being exclusively on the big waters of the north country, I demand power, speed, safety, and performance for my bass and musky fishing. This boat gets the job done, and also allows me to comfortably host my guests with Northwoods Bass Fishing Adventures.
